I was hoping to do weekly updates on the “journey” but apparently time got the better of me (AGAIN!). So, it goes like this…
I shifted house on Monday, from campus to private accommodation for a little while. I’m not really sure of my next move for now to be honest. I think I will weigh it all up (literally) in the next few weeks. However, for now I am noticing some interesting observations in relation to my new health regime, which is a slow process in that.. I’ve been inactive for a long time and neglecting my health, burning the candle at both ends, running the online group, trying to build the website, returning to university and trying to remember how to study, and trying to get results in and pass. I must have been overambitious when I booked into the campus with the share accommodation. 6 people with a common lounge and kitchen and most of them young with little focus on studies can be a bit challenging for a person reaching their half century life milestone, but I gave it a shot. It wasn’t the worst experience in my life but it was certainly interesting, and offered more than the one challenge.
Anyway, I decided as most people are aware to start addressing all those ignored health conditions that I have been carrying for a while and neglecting. (The promoters say make a list and then observe how the product affects these conditions – better or worse). So I did, and surprised myself, frankly if I was a car I am well over due for an overhaul and service in a multitude of ways, I’d probably be running on dirty fuel stuck at the bottom of the tank and the car engine would be coughing and spluttering as it rolled along with the poor fuel I was filling it with (lots of sugar – lets be real I was having many sugar cravings), and a few takeaways as my budget allowed, and then there was the hit and miss meals when I was under pressure and time poor. Cereal kind of filled the spot. Anyway, this is what I have reminded myself of with my list:
Muscle and tendon damage – right ankle and right shoulder.
Teeth – need fixing,
Skin – definitely not as hydrated as it could or should be, starting to show signs of wear and tear (sadly)., blemishes, and declining elasticity. In fact as I peered in the mirror this morning I am noticing new lines around my mouth and also a few trenches that appear to be deepening between my eyebrows. Frown lines I believe they are called, which incidentally I resent that as a terminology – I see them as “study lines”.. they are from deep concentration and processing and absorption of knowledge – not necessarily from frowning and glaring at the world all the time but apparently they can give a “fierce edge” to the appearance. So I can’t wait to start on the skin care and find out what happens with them with the product (all organic – Mother Nature apparently has everything covered!!)
Hair – going grey and dry as a bone, all those years of dying them and the toxins in the dye no doubt have had its impact.
Eyes – well yes I need to get them checked again. Apparently I am borderline in need of bifocals the last time I went in, and I have pterygium and frankly – why do they need to put the writing on medicine bottles so small? I wouldn’t normally think it was a problem except for when I gave my little grandson a daily dose in one hit. (Frankly who would have thought paracetamol could be taken in 0.1 measures? I just saw the number #1. Anyone would have thought I’d tried to murder him the response I had to deal with *sigh*.
Feet and Nails – seen better days. Share bathrooms haven’t helped.
Liver – well I don’t know. But frankly every test I’ve had on liver function for years has come up with “poor liver function”. I have a thyroid condition, so I recall years ago being told..” take the thyroid replacement medication or you will die”. Side effect being – the replacement chemical has some kind of build-up in it that occurs in the liver and results in low liver function, which apparently causes fatigue. I’ve been living with it all for so long I fail to pay attention to it anymore.
Kidneys and Adrenals – well once again who knows? But bottom line apparently stress is carried in these and I have been dealing with a lot of stress for a long time what with family, and just life in general at times.
I think I have decided to go for a medical in the next weeks for a total overhaul and find out what’s “working well” and what isn’t. This way I can full measure the effectiveness of the product.
So that all said and done, I’ve been taking the vitamins, mineral and antioxidant supplements for the last week. Apparently by doing this and drinking heaps of water I am effectively “detoxing and flushing” the system and helping my liver and kidneys up the ante.. Which can’t be a bad thing. The other thing apparently is by taking this vitamin supplement which is more a “nutritional supplement” I am “nourishing and nurturing my cellular levels”. This supplement is molecular weighted for best absorption (scientifically evidenced which appeals to my cynical old gray brain cells – the beauty of this is – while I study at university, I have access to data bases, and can actually pull up the PDF scientific research from other researchers that support the claims.. because if there is one thing I really can’t stand, its marketing BS). Anyway apparently we need to take minerals to be able to absorb the “nutrients”. The mineral drink, my friends looks likea muddy glass of water. I watch those TV adverts now of the people ein Africa, with a stern sad voice saying “would you feed this to your child?” I see the particles floating in it and think to myself “well almost but not quite – my drink is missing the floaties”. Funnily enough the drink actually doesn’t have a flavour, which I enjoy, and it doesn’t smell and it’s easy to swallow down. It contains something like 37 minerals and enzymes and is made from moss grown in the Swiss alps. (That’s the other thing I like about this product – it is completely environmentally responsible and uses tried and tested organic products that have been molecularly weighted for best absorption! Amazing!!.
I can’t say I have got to the stage where the weight is falling off me, but I definitely can say that I am starting to feel the waist band around my jeans loosen.. which is not a bad thing at all.. they were starting to get pretty tight before. I’m told that this is a by-product of healthy body. If the body is healthy and being nourished (as opposed to fed food of any calibre), it actually has the capacity to remove and eliminate toxins in a healthy way, and all that fat around the waist is actually toxic, so its starting to shift. Apparently also – if I combine this with a bit of exercise and some healthy eating – I will shed this weight very quickly.
I’m starting to be hooked on the product to be honest.. I’m going to order the skin care next and then probably the products in the programme for a major detox and flush.. all it really is, is a bunch of additional products specifically designed (holistically and organically), to detox and nourish the liver, kidneys and adrenals, and the gut system to allow them the capacity for best function, AND I have been told by others that have used this product that you can lose masses of weight very quickly without ending up with the loose skin sag, (that’s gotta be a bonus at my age). At the same time what I really like about the people that retai land distribute this stuff – is they don’t actually tell you “you need to go and buy this product it will work well”. They actually try and restrain you from blowing all your cash on it. I almost went and bought the detox stuff the other day, but those that know better said “NO.. wait and see! You might not need it! You have only been on the product for a week – why waste your money? So I am going to give it 9 weeks on this one and see how it pans out, if it looks like it needs a bit of a “kick start”. Then I will go to the other product. I saw recently one lady has done a testimonial that she lost 27 kg in something like 12 weeks.. pretty amazing stuff. Naturally I was a bit sceptical.. so I was more impressed by the lady that looked like she lived in a rather large marquis before starting on the product and who is now down to this tinsy little “ I can wear glamour dresses at cocktail parties” size.. and apparently she has maintained it for two years. I am impressed.
Then there is the guy who decided he wanted to get his “man body” sorted out, with his pecs etc.. he decided that he wanted to lose some fat and lard around his midriff. His before shots (taken in front of his bathroom mirror in his boxers I might add), show a guy that is not too unfit to be honest.. yes a little bit of puffiness under some low level man boobs.. but hardly anything to get depressed about. But the after shots (which was taken about 12 weeks later, show a man whose got major “guns” happening, pecs and abs sticking out like no ones business. Frankly that kind of stud –muffin body isn’t necessarily the type of body I am attracted to BUT the capacity to be able to create the changes in a healthy way through the addition of organically harvested nutrients, minerals and proteins is pretty darn amazing. Anyway I heard him speaking specifically about how he managed to get the look happening, at a webinar I was watching. Forgot the protein, I have no desire for abs and guns, but give me the svelte figure baby, with limited physical exertion and I will be there like a rocket.
Ahhh well – stay tuned for the next update folks. IN the meantime I need to be making a concerted effort to include more water in my diet. I AM drinking heaps of it, but at the same time my poor liver and adrenals have copped a battering for many years now. I did make an effort with the lemon water historically – but when a person takes a long term chemical product such as my thyroid replacement medication, it definitely is going to put some serious strain on the liver. IN fact the docs told me years ago that ultimately I would possibly need a liver transplant from the medication (not from being an excessive drinker or anything else – purely from taking prescription medication. As in their words – the options were if I didn’t take the medication I would die a lot sooner. I figured I wanted to live as long as possible as I had children to care for, so the options weren’t really there for me to do anything else at that time). Anyway – liver detox next I think! I’ll keep you informed!:) x
Hi all! I have been stating on FB that I wanted to commence a new health journey. This year I turn 50 (oh yes its true!) . I am actually quite excited about it. Turning 50 has been about setting a number of milestones for myself including returning to university, to study for my Bachelor of Social Work (YAY!). Then there are the other personal endeavours and goals such as authoring my first book (yet to be published – I’ve been to busy to find the publisher!), then of course as anyone that knows me – there is “THE REAL GROUP”. All I can say about the group is – holy mackerel did anyone ever think it would get so big?? I didn’t .. I had no idea. I had visions of a group that had at most about 500. Now it has 17000 and grows daily.
Anyway this year has been so incredibly busy that I’m actually grateful that my chicks have flown the nest and are off doing their own adult thing, which frees me up to pursue some of my personal endeavours. However, my demanding life style, and my consciousness has been telling me for a while that I need to stop neglecting my health. People have been reminding me “at our age Larina – we need to care for our body more”. “You know Larina – you need to be taking care of your weight/smoking/body – if you expect it to sustain you for the next fifty odd years, and lets not forget life expectancy is increasing all the time”. (Oh really I thought/think- do I look like I am unaware of this? NO my friend – I have been ignoring it and procrastinating). Either way, this year I have become more consciously aware , and that little niggle at the back o my mind saying, “Larina – cholesterol and heart disease! (Don’t forget its in the family!).” “Larina – do you really think that smoking all those cigarettes isn’t what is behind that niggling flu symptom?”. Then there is the “Larina do you really think that your mood swings aren’t related to hormonal imbalances at your age?”. Of course there is the “Larina – seriously, you did your ankle how many years ago and have ignored it, now you have done your shouler – what ARE you going to do about it?”.
So I asked myself – what AM I going to do about it? I could go for a walk. I’ll do that later. I could give up smoking. Perhaps not right now. I could start eating healthily. Yes I could – I might start that next week even. I could do any of that. OR I could go and get that brand again – what was it called? That’s right! The company that provides that amazing product that I tried out 15 years ago and fell in love with, it works by detoxing – and I KNOW that I remember hearing success rates with the product in relation to reducing cholesterol and having amazing results and actually being part of one particular person being able to avoid having a bypass. I might look into that. I might indeed.. I might even look into getting the skin care again. I have clear recollection of someone saying to me “OH THAT PRODUCT?? Far out, I Keep thinking of buying that – I knew this lady who swear to god was a lovely lady but she had a face on her like a wrinkled up old prune. I hadn’t seen her for a few months and when I did she looked great so I asked her if she had gone and had a facelift and she said “no I’m using THE product”. As I hit closer to 50 not only am thinking about my body and health, I see a lady in the mirror I no longer recognise.. where did those lines come from? Who IS that woman?? Anyway – I contacted the company. They got back to me. I’ve started on the THE BRAND. It’s been fifteen years, I’m excited about this. I would like you to be part of my journey. I will also get some photos of me as well – before and after, I’d like for you to be part of my “testing and trialling the product”. I plan to be a living testimonial that it is possible to be healthy, be kind to the environment and look great as well, in an affordable way. Mind you - I must say that the meetings I’ve attended since I’m looking at all these old girls and saying “HOW OLD??”. They all have looked about 20 years younger than they actually are. WOOO HOOOO! We can work out if its genes or the product together! I have a plan by the way – I’m going to post up a few blogs to start with that address specific aspects of the WHY and HOW with this product.. Why have I started? How did the company begin? What is the history of the company and the product? Hopefully you will walk this journey with me and we can have fun talking about it. I will then give you all week by week updates. I heard the other day that simply by using the product (which is non toxic, and organic and marketed as a modern day apothecary), it IS actually possible to lose 26kg in 3 months in a SAFE AND HEALTHY WAY? One fat chick to a few others – I like the sound of that!! Anyway stay tuned folks.. and thanks for being part of my journey!
So you think you want a Psychic /Medium Reading?
How will you know if you “get a good one”?
The fact is – not every psychic is genuine, or even genuinely gifted attheir craft. Rather than spend time on explaining what constitute thegenuine psychic – lets talk about how the fraud identifies andexposes themselves, (or the psychic with basic abilities who has notdeveloped them to any level of expertise).
In my personal experience, there are definitely FRAUDS, but what concerns me more is the ones that transfer and project their own personal issues over to the seeker. They have poor boundaries and rely on personal energy (sharing) to retrieve any information. To beclear – this method is NOT a guided reading. It is an “information share” on an energetic level – and some people are definitely more energy sensitive than others and so they can “feel anotherpersons emotions”. This is not an ideal way of reading. I have seen in one public forum where the seeker was despairing as she had been chatting to a man online for about six months and had told him she wanted to develop the relationship further into a romantic one. She put a question to a group of mixed expertise readers, and one of them jumped in” yes yes, don't give up hope! He will meet with you- its love its worth waiting for”. Every other psychic I am sure was the same at me, looking at the computer screen thinking “are you serious? The man has outlined his boundaries apparently more than once, to hold onto hope is to push the personal boundaries and force the man into doing a brutal rejection because she wanted to take the relationship to the “next stage”. It was very clear that the ONE psychic responding with “hold on! He's worth it”.. was extremely emotionally involved in her response, you could almost feel her hysteria in the words, which means that she was picking up on the hysterical emotional state of the seeker. SHE HAD POOR BOUNDARIES,and they compromised her capacity as a reader! It doesn’t make her a bad person, it just doesn't make her a good reader, and in fact makes her the kind of psychic that a seeker would be wise to sidestep.
Why am I concerned about poor boundaries? Over the last few years I havebeen more exposed to mental health in Community Support roles. It hasbeen educational and informative, especially combined with my ownpsychic and intuitive abilities. Anxiety and depression are on theincrease and depending on where we live in the world, it can be ashigh as 2 in 3 people having been diagnosed with it. The most commonform of treatment is through medication and many of the sufferers areactually not employing alternative (and scientifically proven)strategies to heal themselves. Psychologists recommend walking andexercise, and laughter (even faking it) as therapy for anxiety anddepression and also singing and dancing. I am not saying peopleshouldn't medicate – each to their own. As an energy worker howeverthis concerns me in that these kinds of figures must indicate thatthe same statistics are available within energy worker fields (andpsychics). If the way a person obtains their “insight andinformation” is through sharing energy, then there is always goingto be a transfer -if the psychic is picking up information andfeelings from the energy – then they are also sending it over tothe seeker. The energy becomes shared, and so therefore the potentialfor increased anxiety occurs (passing from one person to the next)if the reader doesn't know how to clear and cleanse their auraeffectively after a reading.
So if the above hasn't put you off.. how does a fraudulent psychic behave?
Online psychics who ask your date of birth or your star sign arequestionable. Spiriit doens't actually need your DOB to bring througha valid message and frankly if you are receiving an online psychicreading – it could result in identify theft. I would avoid givingit. The exceptions are of course if you are getting an astrologicalor numerological reading. I am lead to believe that some phoneys willgoogle the latest astro message for your birthday and give that toyou as “guided message”. (reworded and rephrased of course!)
Thefake will tell you that they can offer you something that you can'tdo yourself – spells or tricks. They may also tell you that youhave a curse or are hexed. This kind of comment frightens a personinto buying more readings – buyer beware! You just got suckered ifyou fell for that comment!
The fake will not happily sit for a test. They don't like it as it willexpose them, and they will refuse to sit for a general “demonstrationof skill base”.
The fake will ask you lots of questions and let you tell them all aboutyourself – and that information becomes what they draw their“messages from” which is more about an “educated guess” thanan actual “guided or psychic message”
The fake will ask you about the country or city that you live and evenyour age as this will provide insight into the kind of life andeduction and social status that applies to you.
They will have a large ego and may well tell you that they are famous orworld renowned, or have even read for Holly wood stars. If you havenever heard of them, and all you get is a link to their site, thenrealistically – they are most likely frauds. If they were reallyfamous,at least one of your family or friends will have heardsomething about them.
A GENUINE PSYCHIC
Will validate a reading by telling you some indepth information about yourpast or present that no one else knows about. They won't provide youwith an airy fairy fluffy reading all about the future with no personal or relevant information.
Whenvisiting for a face to face reading – wear casual clothes and limityour jewellery. Everything you wear and the way you sit and talk willscream volumes about your situation and job status etc, including thecar you drive. Often a genuine psychic will struggle to maintain anyform of eye contact with the seeker to ensure that theirvision/message is not “veered” by the messages and observationsof their “physical eyes”. In fact I know some readers that puttheir hands over their eyes when “channelling” to ensure that they deliver a pure and untainted message of guidance.
Will NOT atempt to reel you in and manipulate you into giving moreinformation than you need to. They won't ask a lot of questions andare truly gifted one will not even need a question – theinformation will flow as the question will have been conveyedpsychically before the start of the reading.
Will not give you the information you want to hear, but will convey thesituationa nd the problem as it is, and then provide strategies orsolutions for YOU to consider. They will also say very clearly –that the onus of repsonsilbity is on you and that you have choices inrelaton to the actions. Energy changes – so while the informationmay be conveyed and be RIGHT at the time of the reading, circumstances may alter and the course of action MAY change, so it isimportant for the seeker to pay attention and be aware of anychanges that may impact on the outcome nad the course of action thatthey need to be taking to ensure the best possible results andsuccess of any of their endeavours.
A genuine psychic is aware of karma and understands that divinemesasges are devoid of judgement, and basically outline the situationand will not seek to impose their will on others – they will purelyprovide information. They are a channel for the message. The messagewill be direct and not “confusing”.
Allpsychics have good and bad days – no one is 100 percent accurate ALL the time, so any psychic that claims a 100 % accuracy rate i squesitonable from the onset.
Genuine psychics will give you both the positive information and any upcomingchallenges and provide strategies. They do not withhold informationout of concern for a bad review or repeat business. IF there arechallenges they will deliver them with kindness and compassion andprovide strategies and technqiues even if it is “consult aprofessional”.
Genuinepsychics do not give you false hope, or ask a heap of questions aboutyou. They also ensure that your message is empowering to you andfosters a greater level of peace. They do not speak of fear based subjects such as evil spirits or curses. Their role is not to makeyou frightened but to feel safer and stronger to be able to cope withsituations and cirucmstances.
After many years of working with “energy” and meeting many “healing practitioners”, I started to observe certain themes among people, be they church goers or “new age collective consciousness” type folk. They all talked and espoused “unconditional love” and they were so often very cruel, harsh and unkind in the way that they lived their lives of judgement and exclusion. Additionally - many were incredibly self absorbed and quite repelling to be around for any length of time. A few years ago I entered the field of community support, with the vision of actively working in the community to empower individuals to live a more fulfilled life, in my vision I saw my new role as "actively walking my talk". I was no longer just speaking about the world I felt I saw in my mind, but actively in the community helping those people with the greatest needs - the homeless, the poor, substance abusers etc.. all of these conditions quite often can lead a person to at least a short time of emotional and psychological instability.
I became more exposed to people working in the health field such as Medical Practitioners, Nurses, Substance abuse counsellors and Facilitators, Child Protection agencies and organisations, Qualified Psychologists, Social Workers, Counsellors and Mentoring Services for people who had experienced any number of traumas, and also including victims of child sexual abuse. While I do agree with many folk that not all practitioners in these areas are “worth the money you pay”. What I also learned was that it is not necessarily wise to discount the services these groups of people have to offer to the greater community. There is a perception amongst many "wounded healers", that the mind is nothing and the heart is all their is. This is not something I agree with - I believe that they are both as important as each other. If we disregard our heart, then we create a living hell on earth for ourselves. If we disregard the mind - then we also create a living hell on earth for ourselves. If we go through our lives disregarding our sense of logic, then we can often create very REAL and difficult problems for ourselves in our physical existence. What many wounded healers don't realise is that many mental health professionals have already walked the path of the "wounded healer", and have chosen to step into the field of mental health expert. The issue here is exactly the same as with finding a competent spiritual advisor. They are few and far between and we have to be very discerning in whose information we take on board and not prejudge an individual based on our previous or personal experiences, although if previous and past experience has been painful it might be wise to approach with caution. Not everyone is as they appear to be on a superficial level.
I have been blessed to have some of these wonderful, dedicated workers as my friends and colleagues, including one very dedicated and spiritual psychotherapist with mainstream qualifications to assist in addressing behavioral problems. Very recently in discussion with this Psychotherapist I expressed my malcontent with the “Spiritual Industry”. That is, that they talk about unconditional love – but clearly don't know the first thing about how to be unconditionally loving. This lead to a wonderful discussion and a “brainstorm” of what unconditional love is based on our own definition and description, and in the process it is very clear to see where things fall down and how things can backfire on us, as we strive to live and walk our “talk”. I have actually now decided it is my own self empowerment tool. When situations arise that I am not comfortable with - I refer to it and ask myself the question of "within this situation - what are the areas that are causing me discomfort" and by establishing the areas I am then able to actively make decisions about my life and my relationships, and where I am best to focus my attention.
Here is a summary of what we established in our brainstorming:
One must first love oneself unconditionally – because if we don’t then we run the risk of compromising all the other points and in the process neglect and dishonour our personal truth and comfort and reduce our capacity to be loving and kind to those around us. It is worth bearing in mind – that loving self has nothing to do with ego, and it certainly doesn't mean being unkind to those people around us as we live our truths and practice what we preach.
Anah is a Psychic Medium, who is "bridging the gap" between spirit and mainstream. Her approach is direct, honest and forthright, with a view to empowering people in their physical lives to a greater fulfillment. Anah firmly believes that spirit is the gift to us to empower us to make healthy life choices in the physical and for this reason after many years of focussing on spiritual, metaphysical and "alternative" therapies, Anah decided to study Mental Health and build the bridge between Mind/Heart and physical. She is currently studying toward her Bachelor of Social Work. Anah is also a thinker and reflector and this is reflected in her blogs - she encourages people to question themselves and their motives and to take responsibility for their reactions. Anah hopes to assist people to "think outside the box" and to find their own personal truth.
