Hi all! I have been stating on FB that I wanted to commence a new health journey. This year I turn 50 (oh yes its true!) . I am actually quite excited about it. Turning 50 has been about setting a number of milestones for myself including returning to university, to study for my Bachelor of Social Work (YAY!). Then there are the other personal endeavours and goals such as authoring my first book (yet to be published – I’ve been to busy to find the publisher!), then of course as anyone that knows me – there is “THE REAL GROUP”. All I can say about the group is – holy mackerel did anyone ever think it would get so big?? I didn’t .. I had no idea. I had visions of a group that had at most about 500. Now it has 17000 and grows daily.
Anyway this year has been so incredibly busy that I’m actually grateful that my chicks have flown the nest and are off doing their own adult thing, which frees me up to pursue some of my personal endeavours. However, my demanding life style, and my consciousness has been telling me for a while that I need to stop neglecting my health. People have been reminding me “at our age Larina – we need to care for our body more”. “You know Larina – you need to be taking care of your weight/smoking/body – if you expect it to sustain you for the next fifty odd years, and lets not forget life expectancy is increasing all the time”. (Oh really I thought/think- do I look like I am unaware of this? NO my friend – I have been ignoring it and procrastinating). Either way, this year I have become more consciously aware , and that little niggle at the back o my mind saying, “Larina – cholesterol and heart disease! (Don’t forget its in the family!).” “Larina – do you really think that smoking all those cigarettes isn’t what is behind that niggling flu symptom?”. Then there is the “Larina do you really think that your mood swings aren’t related to hormonal imbalances at your age?”. Of course there is the “Larina – seriously, you did your ankle how many years ago and have ignored it, now you have done your shouler – what ARE you going to do about it?”. So I asked myself – what AM I going to do about it? I could go for a walk. I’ll do that later. I could give up smoking. Perhaps not right now. I could start eating healthily. Yes I could – I might start that next week even. I could do any of that. OR I could go and get that brand again – what was it called? That’s right! The company that provides that amazing product that I tried out 15 years ago and fell in love with, it works by detoxing – and I KNOW that I remember hearing success rates with the product in relation to reducing cholesterol and having amazing results and actually being part of one particular person being able to avoid having a bypass. I might look into that. I might indeed.. I might even look into getting the skin care again. I have clear recollection of someone saying to me “OH THAT PRODUCT?? Far out, I Keep thinking of buying that – I knew this lady who swear to god was a lovely lady but she had a face on her like a wrinkled up old prune. I hadn’t seen her for a few months and when I did she looked great so I asked her if she had gone and had a facelift and she said “no I’m using THE product”. As I hit closer to 50 not only am thinking about my body and health, I see a lady in the mirror I no longer recognise.. where did those lines come from? Who IS that woman?? Anyway – I contacted the company. They got back to me. I’ve started on the THE BRAND. It’s been fifteen years, I’m excited about this. I would like you to be part of my journey. I will also get some photos of me as well – before and after, I’d like for you to be part of my “testing and trialling the product”. I plan to be a living testimonial that it is possible to be healthy, be kind to the environment and look great as well, in an affordable way. Mind you - I must say that the meetings I’ve attended since I’m looking at all these old girls and saying “HOW OLD??”. They all have looked about 20 years younger than they actually are. WOOO HOOOO! We can work out if its genes or the product together! I have a plan by the way – I’m going to post up a few blogs to start with that address specific aspects of the WHY and HOW with this product.. Why have I started? How did the company begin? What is the history of the company and the product? Hopefully you will walk this journey with me and we can have fun talking about it. I will then give you all week by week updates. I heard the other day that simply by using the product (which is non toxic, and organic and marketed as a modern day apothecary), it IS actually possible to lose 26kg in 3 months in a SAFE AND HEALTHY WAY? One fat chick to a few others – I like the sound of that!! Anyway stay tuned folks.. and thanks for being part of my journey!
